Zach Jaraczewski win's back to back to finish the season
In another dominant performance, Zach Jaraczewski found himself his second victory in a row to finish out the 2021 GBDGA season. This victory had big implications for Zach and it was enough to catapult him into a tie for the Overall League Championship with Nico Baron, making history as the first ever co-champions of the GBDGA, if only Nico showed up for this last tournament he could've stood on top on his own. The same goes for Andrew Carver, as he has found himself finishing at the bottom of the GBDAG standings becoming the 2021 winner of the GBDGA Toilet Bowl. Look for him to make a change on that in the 2022 season. Dillon Raunio made an epic return to the standings after having DNF'd the Founders Cup and Masters to finish in third place at this tournament, he will look to build on that momentum next season. As we wrap up another terrific season of the GBDGA, we hope all participants have a great offseason and are geared up for January and the start of the 2022 GBDGA season.

Jaraczewski puts Baron's Bid Down
As the GBDGA found itself at the final Major tournament of the season, Nico Baron had high confidence coming off his OT victory over Zach Jaraczewski. Zach had other plans. Playing a lights out round he found himself sitting on-top of the leader board looking back at the rest of the pack from his first place finish. Nico Baron falling just short of the the Triple Crown will have to wait until the 2022 season for redemption and another shot at eternal glory.

Anything but a Token win for Baron
In another tight tournament in the GBDGA Nico Baron came out ahead, finally getting the overtime monkey off his back. Coming in second was Zach Jaraczewski, putting up one of his best performances at a Madison tournament, and surprisingly with no course experience. Overall, the scoring was very close, with most players only being separated by a stroke, with the exception of Dillon Raunio, who couldn’t beat the heat and failed to finish. Overall, a very memorable tournament with plenty of camping fun and lots of great memories. That said, two important developments came out of the tournament. First, Micah is a Farkle god who is not to be lightly messed with. Secondly, for the first time in league history, we have a player who has made it through the first two phases of the triple crown; Nico Baron, already putting his name all over the record books, is looking to take his next step to greatness on the greatest of stages, The Masters. Look forward to more with the next tournament preview!

Team Finkelstein fights it's way to victory
The GBDGA DAS BOOT Classic Draft was a success and it seems there is a geographical divide that has occured within the GBDGA. Doug Cassel drafting a team completely of participants in Madison or South, and Zach picking primiarly Green Bay residence. This proved to be a test of will and time. Team Finkelstien came out strong in the bag swap round, going up 7 strokes on Team Badrinath, but Team Bardrinath wouldn't go down without a fight. Making a comeback in the Worse shot round to bringing it within 2 stokes for the final results. Overall, this was a great halfway tournament filled with lots of shinanigans and fun. We are going to be turning out sights on the last three tournaments of the year, starting with the Founders Cup and someones attempt to ruin Nico Baron's sights on the GBDGA Triple Crown.

Nico Baron Hits Cruise Control On His Way To Victory
It was a hot day, but, no one would expect the fire Nico Baron was about to bring as the GBDGA kicked off the 2021 Subaru Classic at The Canyons at Dellwood Park. It was the first traveling tournament and the league had a large turnout, including a visit from a distance Member, Mike "OG" Shiffer. Nico wanted to show mother nature who could be hotter, shooting an incredible -11 on his first 18 and cruising to his second GBDGA tournament win of the season. Overall, it was a great showing for the GBDGA members most having never seen the course before the weekend. It's a promising look as we head into our Mid-Season Break and the upcoming DAS BOOT Classic!!!! I hope everyone is ready for DASSSSSS BOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Micah Wheeler Finds Pay-Dirt at Azko-Nobel
It was a great day for disc golf as the GBDGA members got to Azko-Nobel Sports Complex for the 2021 GBDGA Green Bay Open, spirits were high and everyone was ready to play. The day started off with trouble, but Tommy Purdom didn't let a locked car keep him from shooting a terrific first round, tying with Micah Wheeler for the first place position, with everyone else close behind. There were a number of interesting Mulligan's used, and a couple of fire second rounds from Micah Wheeler and David Schneider, and in the end Micah Wheeler was too much to catch, winning his first tournament of the 2021 season after two previous top three finishes. The competition was tighter then it's been and looks to be a glimpse into what's to come as the GBDGA takes on it's most grueling course ever at the Canyons for the GBDGA Subaru Classic. Fire up those engines and cruise down to Lockport, Illinois to see how it all shakes out.

Nico Baron Aces his way to Players Cup Victory
It was a Beautiful day at Lake Leotta Park In Evnsville as the competitors lined to get their profile pictures taken. Anticipation and excitement rang through as the GBDGA's first major of the 2021 season was about to kick off. This year did not disappoint. Nico Baron on the last card to go off in round one threw his second GBDGA official Ace, doing it on his first throw for the day, and he didn't slow down. Zach Jaraczewski, Tommy Purdom, and Micah Wheeler all tried to make a push, with Zach missing his putt on hole 36 that would've forced overtime with Nico. Ultimately, Nico walked away victorious and started his pursuit of the ever elusive Triple Crown. All Competitors came out to show their stuff, on one of the more challenging courses in the GBDGA tournament schedule. This 2021 Season looks to be full-throttle from all and I am expecting to see more records and improvement from everyone.

Zach Jaraczewski Remains King at Legion for the 2021 Winter Championship
Well the first tournament of the 2021 season has come and gone and there were some surprises and some not so surprises. As far as the not so surprising, Zach Jaraczewski came out and despite the freezing temperatures, absolutely set the course on fire, shooting a new course record in good, but still less than perfect conditions. The tournament was his the whole day shooting rounds of -5, -7, -6, -6. The only bogies Jaraczewski saw were from cardmates, ultimately winning the tournament by a whopping 11 strokes; Zach’s incredible execution secures a target firmly to his back for the rest of the season. Moving down the line, Micah Wheeler also put on a show, shooting what would have also been a new course record, but it was only good enough for 2nd place today. Micah just barely edged out Doug Cassel by one stroke, and after a disappointing 3rd nine, barely held off a charging Dillon Raunio who ultimately ran out of steam putting up a very disappointing +4 over the last 9 holes. Following Micah and Doug was a very tight pack of 4 players separated by only 3 strokes including an impressive 6th place finish by Michael Carlson, really upsetting the apple cart on the Commissioner’s predictions for the season, where both Commissioner’s expect to see an 11th place finish overall. This tight group in the middle really relates back to one of the big themes mentioned during the podcast, that players continue to get better and the skill gap continues to close. It will be interesting to see if the middle of the pack stays this tight throughout the season, granted the Winter Championship is a course with some of the lowest scoring separation, but only time will tell what the rest of the season holds. Moving on to the big surprise for the day, Nico Baron, projected to take 1st or 2nd for the overall championship had a day he would likely like to forget. It just was not his day, ultimately ending up in a tie for 8th place with Andrew Carver. It’s hard to say what the problem was, his aggressive putting style certainly faces some issues in icy/snowy conditions, and maybe the alteration from his typical pre-tournament routine was in his head; whatever the case, hopefully Nico can recover and get his season back on track in March at the Player’s Cup. Overall an incredible start to the season, hopefully people can take the month off and get some of the kinks worked out as we head into our first major of the year in March
