Kicking off the fourth stop of the GBDGA Pro Tour is the Founders Cup at the historic                                                Elver Park in Madison,WI.

This challenging course plays up a ski hill and then winds its way through the majestic                                             woods of Wisconsin. Play finishes with a long down hiller bomber of a hole with a                                                   gallery posted up just behind the basket to witness the fireworks.

After back to back tournaments last month, the GBDGA members will face yet another challenging stop. Elver attacks players with its tight fairways, constant elevation changes, and tucked away pin locations.

Regulation play will consist of (2) rounds played from the short tees.

  • The first round will be played to the long (blue) pins. This is easily the more challenging and demanding on the 2 layouts. Players will be tested off the tee if they’re looking to make par on each hole, but is the juice always worth the squeeze? Many of the long pin placements require pinpoint accuracy off the tee and will kick you into Sasquatch territory if you miss your line. Players will need a fully equipped toolbox if they’re looking to attack on each of the 18 holes.

  • The second round will play to the short (red) pins. While this setup does offer some easier 2’s, the woods are ever looming and the long grass remains hungry to gobble up any stray discs. Disc selection will be key for this setup, with many holes 220-250ft range, will players opt for a midrange or soft fairway? Distance control will be tested at each green.

Reigning champ Tommy Purdom is returning to the event this year, will he manage to secure back to back wins? Tune in Saturday the 11th at noon to find out!
