                                                               Ahhhhh….here we are again. 

 

                                                               The GBDGA season is coming to a close. The Green Jacket has found its new home, the Triple Crown has                                                                       eluded being won. Again. 

 

The weather may be getting cooler, but the competition sure isn’t. With just one final event on the table, the GBDGA members are all fighting to get a solid score and to bolster their league rankings. 

 

In years past, we’ve seen Doug Cassel win the event in 5 holes of playoff golf. The past 2 years were swept away easily by David Schneider. Is he going to win again for the three-peat?! I doubt the competition will let him. 

 

Zach is coming off of an OT win last month, Tommy squeaked out a win the month before that. Both of these fine gentlemen are looking for redemption. And their very own GBDGA branded Whiskey Barrel.

 

There are other members looking to swipe the coveted trophy out of Davids hands as well. OG Mike Shiffer played last year prior to his league induction and shot the best score of the event, can he repeat this year? Nico has come close to taking home the gold, but faltered after 5 holes in a playoff vs Doug. Fish is still hunting a first place finish this year, will be able to use the right bait and catch himself a win?  Carver works just down the road and has been playing rounds at the course regularly. Learnings its ups and down, it’s supple hills and gnarled tree roots. Could this be his year? Is he a shaman? Who knows. 

 

This year the event is being played a bit differently. The course was recently fitted with a second set of baskets. There are now 2 pin positions in for each location. Round 1 will be played to the red (short) pins and round 2 will be played the blue (long) pins. 

 

Are contestants going to come out gunning and shoot their shot on the front 18? Or are they going to play safe and slow, saving their arms for the second round?

 

There is only one way to find out! Tune in on September the 21st to our livestream to watch the fabled members of the GBDGA take on the rambling monster that is Heistand Park. There will be trees hit, beers crushed, and morales broken.
