The first major has arrived, soaring us into the thick of the GBDGA season. The                                                Players cup marks the opportunity for someone to take a shot for the Triple Crown.                                            Does Tommy “Hammer-Throw” have the endurance to continue his outstanding                                                performance from the GBDGA Winter Championship or will he see his Epic glide him                                          right out of first place? How will the extra month off help Doug Cassel in his first                                            GBDGA tournament of the 2017 season? Don’t expect pots of gold at the end of this                                              rainbow, only overall points and the Players Cup trophy. Remember collared shirts are required for all majors, drinking and trash talk are strongly encouraged, but overall points are on the line. Good luck to all.

Lake Leota Park is a fun course. You’ll be tested and tempted on many holes, so come prepared with all the shots in your arsenal and a maybe even a few tricks up your sleeves.

For each hole there is a long and short teepad and a long and short pin. Blues are long and yellows are short. There are only 9 holes on this course, so we’ll be rotating pads and pins throughout the tourney. The first 18 will be played from the short (yellow) tees, playing the first 9 to the short pins, then the second 9 to the long. Guess what we are playing for the second 18? Long tees! First round of 9 to the short pins, second round to the long.

There is some slight elevation change, but not too much. A few holes are lightly wooded. There are a few holes (4) that play along or over water. So bring your floaties and a few backups. Hole 9 is an island green, so we might see some discs get wet. Are you going to risk it for the deuce?

And that’s about it. There is a pavilion nearby, so we’ll be able to stash our beer and stuff there. I think there are bathroom facilities available, not sure if they’ll be open.
