Who's Team Badrinath? Only the Winners of the GBDGA DAS Boot Classic. Even after top ranked player Paul Fischer had to bow out due to "coaching soccer"...testing positive for PEDS... the matchups made by Captain Doug Cassel proved too much for Team Finklestein. Dier Straits played unforgiving for most, especially Micah Wheeler, who in both Matchups was up by 3 holes only to lose 5 straight both times to come up short by 2. The real MVP was Doug Cassel laying the hammer down on Nico Baron in the first matchup and held strong to fight back from behind beating Micah.
Current Toilet Bowl Champion Tommy "Hammer Throw" Purdom had a successful outing helping out his team with a come from behind victory on Micah and tying Nico. Zach Jaraczewski was able to make it a fight by beating Dillon Raunio in his first matchup, but David "Spicy Wiener" Schneider gave him a good battle in round two. Andrew Carver made his presence known coming from behind to, although ultimately falling short, tighten the gap on David and coming out on top in his battle with Dillon. In the end it was Team Badrinath that won by a score of 2 holes up to take home the coveted DASSS BOOOOTTTT!!!!! Overall it was a great season for all participants and looking forward to the 2017 season! Look for the 2017 schedule to be released in late December.

This past Saturday, Sept 24th, was the final installment of the GBDGA’s maiden season. After a shaky forecast, Mother Nature provided clear skies, a polite wind, comfortable temperatures, and a mosquito infestation that seemed to rival the Ten Plagues of Egypt. After 6 hours of long and hard competition, 5 playoff holes, 3 cans of bug spray, and one babushka, Doug Cassel finally finished off Nico Baron to claim his first GBDGA Title.
The day was filled with impressive performances across from all players. Tommy “Hammer Throw’ Purdom showed up bigtime, bombing his Epic for some impressive park jobs; he was definitely not suffering from a whiskey disc. Although rendered incapable of finishing the tournament, Dillon Raunio proved his worth and displayed massive improvement as well, showing his practice under the tutelage of Tommy has been very beneficial. A two month layoff from competition proved fatal for overall points leader Paul Fischer as he limped into a season worst 4th place finish. After returning from Tampa – Carver showed great promise and improvement, and even locked down a jaw dropping 70 foot uphill putt for birdie on hole 17. David Schneider has his head in the clouds missing a number of game changing putts sliding him down to a 6th place finish.
All said and done, the Whiskey Disc showcased great improvements from all players, not just in their ability to throw discs but also in their ability to hold their booze.

It was a Dreary Saturday afternoon, but the competition was on fire. a new course to all brought upon unique challenges that left many discs lost to the Disc Golf Gods. In the end Micah Wheeler came out with a surprise on top to win his second straight Green Jacket and a lofty 8 points. Doug Cassel fought hard making up ground in the second half only to find himself one shy of a victory, still 7 points in the standing will ensure the Toilet Bowl doesn't go home with him. David Schneider coasted into a third place finish, but sinking an incredible approach shot on hole 11. Zach was there to play until two lost discs got in his way causing him to take high scores on the final 3 holes. Nico Baron fell apart on the back 18 playing only 14 of 18 being dealt a mere 4 points in the standings. I don't think he will be catching Paul Fischer now. Bringing up the rear is an up and coming player in Dillion getting a feel for what GBDGA competition is all about. Overall the masters didn't disappoint. With only one tournament to play and the overall points still on the line, The Whiskey Disc should shape up to be a great ending to a great season.

Saturday was a day of celebration! One of the GBDGA members tied the knot. Zach Jarazcewski got married to the lovely Kayla Jarazcewski (Kucksdork). The day was beautiful and love was in the air. Door County was radiant with their love with the wonderful ceremony and a rocking reception, ushering them into the start of their married lives. Only one question comes out of such a wonderful event, Will the new weight of a ring affect his Disc Golf Throw? The Masters will tell all. Congratulations Zach from all of the GBDGA for winning the best trophy of his life, Kayla. We love you and wish you and Kayla all the best in the wonderful life you two will share.

This past Saturday was the first annual Founders Cup in Madison, WI. The weather was optimal and the competition was fierce. The course at Elver was was unforgiving, eating up 3 discs like they were kobayashi. Black Doug made a surprise appearance costing white Doug his treasured Gator and El Carlos lost his beloved Mamba #5 do a bush his Buzzz went to go help repopulate the dwindling bumblebee population.
In the end, after long hours on the course Nico fought through with the win. A few strokes back was Fisch and a single stroke behind him was White Doug. Carlos and Carter rounded out the standings. A guest appearance was made by the one and only Dillion, testing out his new plastic and hitting some trees in the process. I can sense the GBDGA growing in the near future.
A couple of hard fought rounds by all attendees!

The Afternoon was Hot, but the Suck My Discs team of Nico and Zach was on fire. They started off strong and continued to push through the end, earning the right to be called the GBDGA Team-Play Champions and 8 large standings points.
The Lone Wolf team of Doug and Doug had an impressive showing knocking down some big putts and picking up the pieces where the other one did not earning a tie for second place with the Farmer's Tan's, Paul and Carver picking up 6 points for each team. The always consistent play of Paul and Carver helped to slide them into that second place finish.
Bring up the rear, after a sleepless night and countless interruptions, was Team Worm-Burners made up of Micah and Tommy. Tommy "Hammer Throw" Purdom, lived up to his name and picked up the pieces to make it a close run in the end, before ultimately falling short.
David "Spicy Weiner" lived up to his name confusing his dates and taking the forfeit.
Overall, it was a great tournament and team bonds were formed only to be ripped apart once more at the Founder's Cup on July 2nd. There has been lots of good moments in the first half of the season and we can only assume that will continue through the end. Who will end up as the Overall League Champion and who will end up in the Toilet Bowl? All will be answered as we progress through the next leg of the season.
Thank you to all that participated in the GBDGA Team-Play Championship and look forward to a great second half of the season.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon out at the Fox River Park-Grey Fox Summer Course for the 2016 Subaru Classic and all participants came out with their Engines Reving.
Paul Fischer came in clutch capturing his second GBDGA title of the season, changing gears at the right moment and capturing 8 points.
After a horrible first round Micah Wheeler had an auto-body experience steering his way into a second place finish, gaining a helpful 7 points.
After speeding out to an early lead Nico Baron got a flat tire, sputtering to a third place finish and grabbing 6 points.
Doug Cassel kept his wheels turning, flooring it past David Schnieder for the fourth place finish and gaining 5 points.
David Schnieder sprung an oil leak as he slid down the standings for a fifth place finish earning him 4 points.
Tommy Purdom found the ebrake hard to release as he crawled to the sixth place finish and 3 points in the overall standings.
In a last ditch effort, Zach Jaraczewski couldn't get his car out of the pit in time and was forced to forfeit gaining himself 1 point in the standings.
Thank you to all who participated this weekend.
Next up the Team-Play Championship. Please see standings/Team-Play Champion Event for team placements.

First off, thank you to all the participated this weekend.
It was a dreary Saturday for the GBDGA Green Bay Open but the field brought nothing but fire. Zach Jaraczewski took to heart his lack luster performance in the Winter and came out swinging fighting his way to his first GBDGA championship shooting an astounding 15-under par and gaining 8 points and a chance at the Triple Crown. 1 down 2 to go.
Coming off the injured reserve, Paul Fischer had a historical round throwing for his and the GBDGA's first hole-in-one on the 175 ft par 3 hole 9. This propelled him to his second place finish and 7 points in the overall standings.
David Schneider came out of his Accounting Fog with a solid performance finishing 3rd and gaining 6 points.
It was a hard fought battle for the middle and in the end Micah Wheelerand Nico Angelo ended the round tied for 4th, each gaining 5 points. This seems to be repetitive nature for Micah as the 2016 season has brought nothing but standing ties for him. Nico on the other hand was able to Dig himself out of the forfeit hole from the Winter Championship putting substantial space between him and the Toilet Bowl.
Doug Cassel showed great promise coming out for his first tournament of the season and finishing 6th overall gaining himself 3 points.
The bottom of the standings finished with Tommy "Hammer Throw" Purdom squeaking out a 7th place finish and Andrew Carver bringing up the rear. Although Carver is in the lead for the Toilet Bowl, he is taking the easy way out and escaping to Florida to sweat out his sorrows. This puts "Hammer Throw" in the lead for the Toilet Bowl moving into the Subaru Classic.
Look forward to a great Subaru Classic.

Hole in one by Mr. Paul Fischer at the 2016 Green Bay Open. Undoubtedly one to go down in GBDGA history

News as of 1/19/16
It was a beautiful day to open the 2016 GBDGA Season and at the end only one prevailed.
Paul Fischer came out ready to play, with his foot on the gas that he never let up. His consistent drives and a valiant sacrifice of his beloved Viking paved the way to his opening victory at the GBDGA Winter Championship and an early lead to the overall standings, gaining 8 points.
David Schneider fought hard, but in the end fell to second place and gaining 7 points in the standings.
In a lackluster performance from both Micah Wheeler and Zack Jaraczewski, a third place tied occurred giving each player 6 points in the standings.
Due to forfeit Nico Baron gains 2 points in the overall standings putting him in the lead in the race for the toilet bowl.
Thank you to all who could participate as well as a big shout out to Oxbow and Moor as they take on the musical world on their tour.
